I believe that the downfall of the Suns gives us a lesson that "Point Guards/Playmakers" are still crucial parts of any basketball team. 
The Suns had 3 legitimate scorers but you cannot survive the Playoffs if you depend too much on difficult and contested shots. You should have someone to set your offense up. 
Same thing goes with the Pelicans (Yes, I know Zion was injured). This idea is backed up by the news that Suns' head coach Frank Vogel wanted to sign a point guard before the Playoffs but the management believed that "it would take away possessions from Beal, Booker, and Durant".
Having Booker (Suns) and McCollum (Pelicans) play the position that doesn't naturally fit with their playstyle will definitely affect their offense especially on a tighter defense in the Playoffs.

Franchise is finished

Suns have nothing to offer free agents but minimum salaries. In July, they can pair a 2031 second-round pick with a mid-tier contract of Grayson Allen, Jusuf Nurkić or Nassir Little, but for what? Good luck building a roster any deeper around their stars, let alone one that can contend.
