The Celtics are in the Finals for the second time in three years after going 12-2 in the Eastern Conference playoffs, including a sweep of the Indiana Pacers in the conference finals. The Mavericks are back in the Finals for the first time since 2011 after beating three 50-win teams in the Western Conference playoffs. Dallas eliminated the Minnesota Timberwolves in the conference finals in five games.

There's been a lot of talk about the Boston Celtics' 'easy path' these playoffs. Nonsense.

Their path started in 2009 when they tried to go back-to-back. KG missing the playoffs didn't help.

So they tried again. And again, and again.

During most of those postseasons, they've been the injured ones. The unlucky ones. It was never easy.

This year, though, they made it look easy.

Even without KP for most of their run, they dominated from round one to the Finals.

Not because of the 'easy' East or the 'tired' West. But because they're the best team in the NBA right now.

The Celtics' path to the 2024 title lasted 16 years and was anything BUT easy.  I’m not a Celtics fan at all, but I have to admit they deserved this one.
